Hong Kong dollar weakens to lowest since trading band was introduced in 2005

HONG KONG, March 5 (Reuters) - The Hong Kong dollar eased to 7.8319 to the U.S. dollar late on Monday, hitting its lowest level against the dollar since a trading band was introduced in 2005.

The Hong Kong dollar weakened to 7.8319 to the U.S. dollar and then was trading at 7.7816 at 1122 GMT.

In 2005, the Hong Kong government set a trading band between 7.75 and 7.85 against the U.S. dollar.
