Home Depot (HD) Stock Declines While Market Improves: Some Information for Investors

In the latest trading session, Home Depot (HD) closed at $347.37, marking a -0.91% move from the previous day. The stock trailed the S&P 500, which registered a daily gain of 0.74%. Elsewhere, the Dow lost 0.01%, while the tech-heavy Nasdaq added 1.68%.

Heading into today, shares of the home-improvement retailer had lost 7.5% over the past month, lagging the Retail-Wholesale sector's gain of 1.06% and the S&P 500's gain of 0.8% in that time.

Market participants will be closely following the financial results of Home Depot in its upcoming release. The company plans to announce its earnings on May 14, 2024. In that report, analysts expect Home Depot to post earnings of $3.61 per share. This would mark a year-over-year decline of 5.5%.
