Home Depot (HD) Dips More Than Broader Markets: What You Should Know

Home Depot (HD) closed the most recent trading day at $327.26, moving -1.18% from the previous trading session. This change lagged the S&P 500's 0.47% loss on the day.

Heading into today, shares of the home-improvement retailer had gained 5.38% over the past month, outpacing the Retail-Wholesale sector's loss of 1% and the S&P 500's gain of 3.38% in that time.

Investors will be hoping for strength from HD as it approaches its next earnings release, which is expected to be August 17, 2021. On that day, HD is projected to report earnings of $4.41 per share, which would represent year-over-year growth of 9.7%.
