Hollyoaks' Cher and Romeo decide their future
Hollyoaks spoilers follow.
Cher McQueen and Romeo Nightingale have made a major decision about their relationship in Hollyoaks.
Romeo has been encouraging his ex-girlfriend to rebuild her life following her recent troubles, with Friday's (September 24) first-look episode seeing the two trying to start a true friendship.
However, Cher was discouraged as Romeo went off to get them some food, as she saw an alert on his phone revealing he'd signed up for an online dating service.
It wasn't long before Juliet interrupted with her theories over stalker Timmy, insisting Romeo shouldn't be wasting his time with Cher anyone.
"Why would anyone want to be friends with you?" Juliet sneered. "We all know that you're messing with your stepmum, poisoning your dad. Now you won't let Romeo escape in peace!"
Romeo demanded Juliet "ease off", but Cher sulked away. Juliet's words gave Cher something to think about, so she later called Romeo to meet her for a heart-to-heart.
"Romeo, we can't be friends," she admitted to him.
Cher then explained that it wasn't making it easier hanging out with Romeo as friends because she was still hung up on him romantically.
Romeo agreed that Cher couldn't focus on herself and her counseling unless they stopped seeing each other, assuring her: "One day, you'll meet someone who'll make you so ridiculously happy.
"No complications, just love."
After the two said a bittersweet goodbye, Cher drowned her sorrows with Theresa at The Dog — where she opened up about how hard it was to be "a loner".
"You might think you're alone, but as long as you're a McQueen, you'll never be anything like it," Theresa promised.
Hollyoaks airs new episodes from Mondays to Fridays at 6.30pm on Channel 4, with first-look screenings at 7pm on E4. Selected omnibus episodes are available via Amazon Prime Video.
