This Morning presenters Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield made a cameo in the latest episode of Apple TV+'s Ted Lasso.

Season 2 of the football show kicked off last week, with this week's bringing a star-studded episode full of cameos from all our favourite TV shows.

Right from the start, we kick off with Jamie Tartt (Phil Dunster), facing elimination on the Love Island spoof show he's been appearing on, Lust Conquers All.

Unfortunately, his time's up and he gets booted off the show, landing his behind on the This Morning sofa with Holly and Phil. The duo probe him on if he's going to keep his promise regarding his on-screen romance with Amy.

"Nah, no. I was just playing a game, do you know what I mean? Find the fittest girl there, have sex with her in the toilet, ask to marry her. Strategy," he admits bluntly, leaving Holly appalled for a second.

Always the professional through, Phil picks it right up by asking Jamie about his career and whether he's going to return to play for Manchester City after leaving to take part in the reality.

While the footballer has every hope to return to play for Man City, the hosts have a special surprise for him; a message from the team's director saying that he and his wife were rooting for Jamie and Amy on Lust Conquers All and that no, they won't ask him back.

Back in the studio after a moment of awkward silence as Jamie takes in the news, Holly goes to commercial break and teases what's next: "When we come back, have scientists really discovered low-fat custard that doesn’t make you sad?"

Meanwhile, in the Sky studios, the Soccer Saturday team is getting ready to welcome retired Chelsea player Roy Kent (Brett Goldstein). Hosting, of course, is none other than Jeff Stelling with Chris Kamara by his side.

Roy's dreadfully negative commentary on his former team's loss leaves the panel in an awkward situation, but it seems like fans at home enjoyed his bluntness.

What's certain is that everyone making a guest appearance in this special episode of Ted Lasso did a fantastic job and we for one can't wait who else the show has in store for us as the series continues.

Ted Lasso streams new episodes Fridays on Apple TV+.
