HDB launches 4,089 flats in September sales exercise

HDB launches 4,089 flats in September sales exercise

A total of 3,373 Build-To-Order (BTO) flats were launched in Punggol and Tampines, which were spread across three projects – Punggol Point Crown, Punggol Point Cove and Tampines GreenGlen.

The Housing Board launched 4,089 flats for sale on Wednesday (11 September), just a day after National Development Minister Lawrence Wong announced higher housing grants and higher income ceilings for flat buyers.

A total of 3,373 Build-To-Order (BTO) flats were launched in Punggol and Tampines, which were spread across three projects – Punggol Point Crown, Punggol Point Cove and Tampines GreenGlen.

Buyers can choose from a range of two-room flexi to five-room flats. A two-room flexi flat in Punggol Point Cove, for instance, only cost $29,000 including grants.

In addition to BTO flats, 716 Re-Offer of Balance (ROF) flats were also launched – comprising 268 two-room Flexis, 202 three-room units, 90 four-room units, 49 five-room units, 104 3Gen units and three executive flats in various towns.

HDB noted that families who are purchasing a HDB flat for the first time will continue to be given priority in flat allocation. Applicants who want to live near their parents or married children within the same BTO projects in Punggol can apply under the Multi-Generation Priority Scheme.

PropNex Realty CEO Ismail Gafoor expects the Tampines GreenGlen project to be popular among buyers due to its good location, reported Today Online.

“We foresee that the strategically located Tampines GreenGlen, with 649 available units, are likely to exceed eight times subscription rates for this sales exercise.”

He also expects to see high demand for bigger-sized units, with five-room units likely to attract double-digit subscription.

For the ROF flats, HDB said at least 95 percent of the available units will be set aside for first-timer families, with the rest going to second-timers. It revealed that around 12 percent of the ROF flats are already completed, while the rest are under construction.

HDB added that applications for the flats may be submitted online until 17 September.

About 4,500 BTO flats in Ang Mo Kio, Tampines and Tengah will be offered for sale by HDB in November, and another 3,000 flats in Sembawang and Toa Payoh in February next year.
