Hancock Holding: 3Q Earnings Snapshot

GULFPORT, Miss. (AP) _ Hancock Holding Co. (HWC) on Tuesday reported third-quarter earnings of $83.9 million.

The Gulfport, Mississippi-based bank said it had earnings of 96 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs, came to $1.01 per share.

The results met Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of six analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was also for earnings of $1.01 per share.

The holding company of Whitney Bank and Hancock Bank posted revenue of $338.7 million in the period. Its revenue net of interest expense was $289.7 million, which did not meet Street forecasts. Four analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $292.7 million.

Hancock Holding shares have dropped 10 percent since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Tuesday, shares hit $44.51, a fall of 9 percent in the last 12 months.
