Halloween star Jamie Lee Curtis has suggested that Halloween Ends may be her final time playing Laurie Strode.

The icon has played the slasher role for over 40 years, and is due to reprise it once again in Halloween Kills later this year, before another turn in 2022's Halloween Ends.

However, in a new interview, the actress teased the latter movie as her last outing, telling Total Film: "I would say, given what I know about the next movie, I think it will be the last time that I will play her."

Obviously, her words raise worries that Strode may meet her maker in Halloween Ends, though the actress noted that it was more of an emotional conclusion.

"And I'm not saying something like, 'Oh, because I die!' It's nothing to do with that," she added. "I'm talking about emotionally what they have constructed. I think it will be a spectacular way to end this trilogy."

According to producer Malek Akkad, the 2022 movie will be "way more contained", as director David Gordon Green teased a different direction.

"I get engaged by doing something different," the latter said. "If I was just going to be repetitive, I would hand the reins off to someone else.

"When you have that opportunity within an established franchise, it's really fun to think about how you can show different tones and perspectives and evolve."

A new trailer for Halloween Kills recently debuted, showing events returning to a classic franchise location.

Halloween Kills is set to be released in cinemas on October 15, 2021. Halloween is available to purchase on Blu-ray, DVD, 4K and streaming now.
