Genworth Financial: 4Q Earnings Snapshot

RICHMOND, Va. (AP) _ Genworth Financial Inc. (GNW) on Tuesday reported a fourth-quarter loss of $17 million, after reporting a profit in the same period a year earlier.

The Richmond, Virginia-based company said it had a loss of 3 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, were 5 cents per share.

The financial services company posted revenue of $2.04 billion in the period. Its adjusted revenue was $2.02 billion.

For the year, the company reported profit of $343 million, or 67 cents per share. Revenue was reported as $8.05 billion.

In the final minutes of trading on Tuesday, the company's shares hit $4.11. A year ago, they were trading at $4.82.
