Freshpet: 4Q Earnings Snapshot

SECAUCUS, N.J. (AP) _ Freshpet Inc. (FRPT) on Tuesday reported fourth-quarter net income of $4.6 million.

The Secaucus, New Jersey-based company said it had profit of 12 cents per share.

The results did not meet Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of seven analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 17 cents per share.

The seller of refrigerated fresh pet food posted revenue of $65.8 million in the period, which also fell short of Street forecasts. Six analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $66 million.

For the year, the company reported that its loss narrowed to $1.4 million, or 4 cents per share. Revenue was reported as $245.9 million.

Freshpet expects full-year revenue of $310 million.

Freshpet shares have risen 25% since the beginning of the year. The stock has increased 89% in the last 12 months.
