Forett at Bukit Timah, which conducted Singapore’s first virtual booking day on 8 August, saw 190 units or 30% of its 633 units sold over the weekend.

Hosted by veteran host Irene Ang, the online balloting and booking process was streamed on the project’s Facebook page. Homebuyers who booked a unit during the launch were able to secure their units at an average price of $1,880 psf, with interest balanced across unit types.

A project by Qingjian Realty (South Pacific) Group and Perennial Real Estate Holdings, the freehold residential project features one-bedroom plus study units to five-bedroom suite units.

Yen Chong, Deputy General Manager at Qingjian Realty, said they were “very pleased” with the results.

“As one of the first launches during this period of reopening, we had to solve how best to conduct the sales launch while keeping everyone safe. There is no precedent. The team worked very hard to pull off the Virtual Booking Day, and we worked even closer with sales agents to ensure that they would be familiar with what was to happen. We must thank the various agencies for their cooperation and for openly sharing their thoughts so that we could pull off this feat.”

She revealed that many industry players had expressed interest in how they conducted the virtual booking day, adding that they would be “more than happy to share” their experience given that virtual launches “are likely to be the norm”.

“Virtual Booking is entirely new to the real estate market. It was not easy to pull off, but the developers were meticulous in anticipating the buyers’ and agents’ needs during the process,” said Doris Ong, Chief Operating Officer of ERA Realty Network.

She noted that the addition of entertainment was “a really nice touch” that kept the excitement and energy level high.

“Homebuyers shared that they appreciated it was hosted by an experienced emcee as it made the whole online session professional and entertaining. It made them feel even more confident with the developer.”

Located at Toh Tuck Road, Forett at Bukit Timah is near Beauty World MRT station, the future Beauty World Integrated Transport Hub as well as the Pan Island Expressway. It is expected to receive its notice of vacant possession on 6 September 2024.

The project’s sales gallery at Yarwood Avenue is open from 10am to 7pm.
