Extended Stay America: 3Q Earnings Snapshot

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) _ Extended Stay America Inc. (STAY) on Wednesday reported third-quarter net income of $41.1 million.

The Charlotte, North Carolina-based company said it had net income of 22 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs, were 33 cents per share.

The results missed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of four analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 35 cents per share.

The hotel operator posted revenue of $332.7 million in the period, which topped Street forecasts. Five analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $330.5 million.

Extended Stay America expects full-year earnings in the range of 93 cents to $1.01 per share, with revenue in the range of $1.21 billion to $1.22 billion.

Extended Stay America shares have declined 5% since the beginning of the year. The stock has declined 19% in the last 12 months.
