Entergy: 4Q Earnings Snapshot

NEW ORLEANS (AP) _ Entergy Corp. (ETR) on Wednesday reported fourth-quarter net income of $389.6 million, after reporting a loss in the same period a year earlier.

The New Orleans-based company said it had net income of $1.92 per share. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring gains, were 68 cents per share.

The results beat Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of three analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 66 cents per share.

The power company posted revenue of $2.46 billion in the period.

For the year, the company reported profit of $1.26 billion, or $6.30 per share. Revenue was reported as $10.88 billion.

Entergy expects full-year earnings in the range of $5.45 to $5.75 per share.

Entergy shares have increased 13% since the beginning of the year, while the Standard & Poor's 500 index has climbed slightly more than 4%. The stock has risen 50% in the last 12 months.
