Go Emoji-Crazy This National Day: Twitter’s SG50 & Singapore Emojis Will Make You See Red

This article originally appeared on Vulcan Post.

With SG50 weekend coming up, we can be sure we’ll be seeing Singapore flags and SG50 logos hanging everywhere (if we can find them in our fishcakes, they must be everywhere). The exciting thing is that from this week onwards, we’ll be seeing Singapore flags and SG50 logos on Twitter as well.

Just today, the SG50 official Twitter account announced that every tweet hashtagged #SG50 and #Singapore will come with their own emoticon — the former with the iconic red logo, and the latter with an adorable version of the Singapore flag.

The emojis were launched by Singapore’s own blogger extraordinaire, Mr Brown, who sent out the first set of emojis with this tweet:

Sadly, the emojis can only be viewed on the Twitter website, so app users won’t be able to experience the real sea of red this week. But if you’re really keen on showing your love for Singapore in emoji form from your mobile, the newest set of emojis comes with multi-racial characters of varying skin tones, as well as a Singapore flag emoji.

Emoji the way you want to.
