Elastic: Fiscal 2Q Earnings Snapshot

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. (AP) _ Elastic NV (ESTC) on Wednesday reported a loss of $50 million in its fiscal second quarter.

On a per-share basis, the Mountain View, California-based company said it had a loss of 64 cents. Losses, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, came to 22 cents per share.

The results surpassed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of six analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for a loss of 32 cents per share.

The software developer posted revenue of $101.1 million in the period, which also topped Street forecasts. Five analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $96.4 million.

For the current quarter ending in February, Elastic expects its results to range from a loss of 36 cents per share to a loss of 34 cents per share.

The company said it expects revenue in the range of $106 million to $108 million for the fiscal third quarter.

Elastic expects full-year results to range from a loss of $1.24 per share to a loss of $1.17 per share, with revenue ranging from $415 million to $417 million.
