Echo Fox adds Smash Melee god Mew2King to its roster

Former NBA star Rick Fox and Echo Fox continue to make waves in esports as the company has announced it has signed Smash Melee god Jason “Mew2King” Zimmerman.

Mew2King, aka M2K, brings instant credibility to Echo Fox’s Smash team, with his incredible competitive resume that includes Apex, Smash Summit, and Evo championships. He was considered the best Super Smash Bros. Melee and Brawl player in the world during his career.

“Jason is the highest grossing player in Super Smash Bros. history, but more importantly, he has been a pioneer and innovator in the sport, exemplifying the commitment to excellence we look for in an Echo Fox athlete,” Fox, founder of Echo Fox, said in a statement.

Mew2King began competition at the age of 16 in 2005, starting with Melee. He has racked up over 70 tournament victories using characters like Sheik, Marth, Fox, and Mewtwo in Melee and Meta Knight, King Dedede, and Falco in Brawl.

He finished in third place in Melee singles competition at EGLX and DreamHack Austin.

Mew2King was most recently sponsored by Cognitive Gaming, and he is still partnered with, and part owner of the Most Valuable Gaming (MVG) League, a Smash crew that also organizes tournaments.

Recently, Echo Fox added Street Fighter V player Julio Fuentes to its FGC roster. Since joining Echo Fox, Fuentes has won Texas Showdown and was the runner-up at Northwest Majors, both Capcom Pro Tour Ranking Events.
