The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s official Instagram account has undergone a name change and is no longer @kensingtonpalace, as it once was.

Prince William and Kate’s account is now @dukeandduchessofcambridge, using their full titles rather than their official residence, which is Kensington Palace.

Prince Charles and Camilla also have an official Instagram account which documents “the life wok and activities” of the pair which goes by the name of @clarencehouse, in relation to their own official residence of Clarence House.

This pattern has now been broken as the Duke and Duchess’ account name now correlates to the official titles they are commonly known as.

This change coincides with the royal couple’s debut on YouTube with a new channel, which is named The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, meaning both social media accounts now correlate.

Prince William and Kate are the first working royals to have their own YouTube channel and the pair have released their first video which introduces the channel and welcomes viewers to watch and subscribe to see upcoming content.

The video features a montage of clips from official visits and footage of the pair as well as a couple of charming behind the scenes outtakes.

The video received well over one million views in less that 20 hours after going live on the site yesterday (5 May).

Currently, Prince William and Kate’s official Twitter account remains @KensingtonRoyal. The pair took to both Twitter and Instagram this morning (6 May) to wish their nephew Archie, the son of Prince Harry and Meghan, a happy second birthday.
