SAN FRANCISCO (AP) _ Dropbox Inc. (DBX) on Thursday reported a loss of $9.5 million in its fourth quarter.
The San Francisco-based company said it had a loss of 2 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for stock option expense, came to 10 cents per share.
The results surpassed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of eight analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 8 cents per share.
The online file-sharing company posted revenue of $375.9 million in the period, also exceeding Street forecasts. Seven analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $369.6 million.
For the year, the company reported a loss of $484.9 million, or $1.35 per share. Revenue was reported as $1.39 billion.
Dropbox shares have risen 25 percent since the beginning of the year.
