Deliveroo vs foodpanda vs UberEats – What Are the Differences in Price and Variety?
Remember those days when you would actually step out of your house to buy food when you were hungry? Me neither.
Ever since food delivery services appeared on the scene, they’ve been a huge hit in convenience-obsessed Singapore. After all, who wants to step out into the steamy night air when you can have your food delivered to your doorstep for a few bucks?
With so many food delivery services out there delivering everything from hawker food to fancy restaurant meals, it can take a while to choose. Here are your options.
Deliveroo
Variety
You’ve seen the Deliveroo riders with their iconic green and black backpacks.
They’re popular for a reason—their range of eateries is very wide, and covers everything from neighbourhood zi char and prata stalls to hipster cafes and atas restaurants. What you will not find are fast-food options like Burger King and McDonald’s.
As a general rule, their selection of eateries is more atas than that of the other two food delivery services on this list.
Here’s a selection of what they have on offer.

foodpanda
foodpanda used to have the widest selection of restaurants on offer, but now Deliveroo seems to have caught up. They’ve now got a similar number of eateries as Deliveroo.
foodpanda’s biggest differentiating factor is that they offer more budget options, including fastfood like Burger King and Subway, which will appeal to diners on a budget. They also seem to have more hawker/zi char options and fewer atas restaurants than Deliveroo.

Minimum order
$12 (as of Feb 2018)
UberEats
UberEats is one of Singapore’s newer food delivery services, but the app has already clawed its way up into the top three.
Their strength is in their wide selection in Singapore’s central area, where they have a truly massive selection of eateries. On the other hand, their suburban selection pales in comparison to FoodPanda’s.
Their eateries in central Singapore are on the atas/hipster side, while their suburban selection is more like FoodPanda’s, with lots of zi char-style and affordable/budget eateries as well as fastfood options like McDonald’s.

So what’s the verdict?
Deliveroo is our top pick if you’re looking for a carefully curated list of stylish eateries. The layout of their website makes it easy to browse through the restaurants.
The FoodPanda site is a bit more chaotic, but given the number of budget options and the free delivery filter, this is our top pick if you’re looking to dine on a budget.
As for UberEats, their main selling point is not imposing a minimum order. This makes it a good option for those who are eating alone or making small orders. They’ve got a ginormous range of restaurants in the city centre, but a less impressive selection in the heartlands. However, the fact that you can’t browse their restaurants on your desktop is a pain, as it is quite inconvenient to look at their full list of eateries on a tiny mobile phone screen.
