SINGAPORE – Singapore's biggest bank, DBS, has said that its digital services – DBS/POSB digibank Mobile and Online, DBS PayLah and DBS mTrading – have returned to normal as of 5.45pm on Wednesday (29 March).

It said in a Facebook post, "We are closely monitoring the situation. We appreciate your patience and are sorry for the inconvenience caused."

No reason was given for why the services stopped working since Wednesday morning.

Earlier, the bank extended banking services at all DBS and POSB branches and Treasures Centres by two hours.

Users have reported on Wednesday that they were unable to log in to the DBS app and also could not use PayLah.

Attempts to log in to the app resulted in "reset pin" prompts, and attempts to log in and pay by DBS PayLah were met with a "service not available" notice.

Payments by DBS or POSB cards did not seem to be affected.

In an update on its Facebook page at 4.50pm, DBS said it is "access to our digital services is still unavailable" and that it is doing its best to resolve the situation.

"While we are working to recover digital services, we've extended banking services at all DBS/POSB branches and Treasures Centres by two hours today. Customers can also continue to use their DBS/POSB cards for transactions," the bank said.

"Please be assured that your deposits and monies are safe and secure."

Earlier at 12.59pm, DBS said that access to its "digital services (DBS/POSB digibank Online and Mobile, DBS Vickers mTrading, DBS PayLah!) is intermittent" and users may experience slowness during log-in.

"Please be assured that your deposits and monies are safe and secure. We are sorry for the inconvenience caused," the bank added.

At 10.30am, DBS said on its Facebook page that "access to digital services (digibank Online and Mobile, PayLah!) is currently unavailable", and assured customers that "our systems remain secure and uncompromised".

"We are resolving the issue and will update as soon as services are recovered," DBS said. "We are very sorry for the inconvenience caused."
