Coronation Street confirms new love interest for Dev Alahan

Coronation Street spoilers follow.

Coronation Street sees Dev Alahan getting a surprising new love interest on UK screens next week.

Several Weatherfield residents, including Dev's children, will be caught off-guard over Dev (Jimmi Harkishin) appearing to grow close to none other than Bernie Winter (Jane Hazlegrove).

In upcoming scenes on ITV, Dev struggles to cope as Evelyn Plummer (Maureen Lipman) continues to fake her injury at the cafe following a recent fall at the Corner Shop.

Dev ends up asking Bernie to help Evelyn with some errands, hoping it will be enough to avoid a lawsuit.

But Bernie has other ideas, promising Dev that she has a master plan.

Her plan involves exposing Evelyn's scam, and she is successful in her goal after dropping Evelyn's dog Cerberus home and using a doggy treat.

Bernie wants Dev to buy her a drink as a reward for forcing Evelyn to return to work.

Later, Dev is being teased by Aadi (Adam Hussain) over his lack of any love life.

Bernie has Dev's back, as she pretends that the pair are heading off for brunch. The pair fake their brunch date, but things begin to escalate when Dev invites Bernie back to Number 7.

They go further than expected with the charade, which prompts Dev to say to Bernie that nothing like this will happen again.

Bernie reacts with frustration, telling him not to flatter himself.

Asha (Tanisha Gorey) and Aadi are shocked by the prospect of a potential relationship between their father and Bernie, while Mary Taylor (Patti Clare) is unimpressed with Bernie, believing that she took advantage of Dev.

But Mary is left feeling uncomfortable when she hears Dev laughing about what happened with Bernie to Steve McDonald (Simon Gregson).

He claims that he only got intimate with Bernie because he was drunk. But is that the truth?

Coronation Street airs these scenes on Wednesday, June 9 and Friday, June 11 from 7.30pm on ITV.
