OVERLAND PARK, Kan. (AP) _ Compass Minerals International Inc. (CMP) on Monday reported fourth-quarter net income of $51 million, after reporting a loss in the same period a year earlier.
On a per-share basis, the Overland Park, Kansas-based company said it had profit of $1.50. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring gains, were $1.41 per share.
The minerals producer posted revenue of $486.5 million in the period.
For the year, the company reported profit of $68.8 million, or $2.02 per share. Revenue was reported as $1.49 billion.
Compass shares have risen 26 percent since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Monday, shares hit $52.65, a decline of 23 percent in the last 12 months.
