Christian Lee Believes Younger Sister Victoria Will Surpass Him and Angela

Reigning ONE Lightweight World Champion Christian “The Warrior” Lee is excited to see his younger sister, ONE atomweight mixed martial arts upstart Victoria “The Prodigy” Lee return to action in the Circle this Friday night.

Victoria will be taking on China’s Wang “Little Sprouts” Luping in a three-round bout at ONE: BATTLEGROUND, which takes place live from the Singapore Indoor Stadium in Singapore on 30 July.

Christian, who regularly trains with Victoria at the family gym, United MMA in Hawaii, has witnessed her develop into a highly skilled martial arts athlete since she first took up training as a child.

Earlier this year, a 16-year-old Victoria made her professional mixed martial arts debut, defeating Thailand’s Sunisa Srisen via second-round submission last February. Now 17 years of age and with the jitters of her first ONE Championship fight out of the way, Christian believes Victoria will be able to show more of her finely tuned skills in the Circle.

“Victoria has improved in every area and I see her using her skills to take her opponent out very quickly,” Christian told ONE Championship in a recent interview.

“Right now Victoria’s biggest strength is her ability to transition between all ranges, mixing up her striking, wrestling and jiu-jitsu.”

Against Wang, Victoria faces an opponent determined to derail her hype train early. Wang doesn’t believe Victoria deserves the attention she’s getting, and feels it only stems from her famous family name.

When Victoria came into ONE Championship, there was a lot of hype surrounding her, and rightfully so. In addition to her world champion older brother, Victoria’s older sister Angela is the reigning ONE Women’s Atomweight World Champion.

Christian believes Victoria is so talented, that it’s only a matter of time before she surpasses both he and Angela in terms of overall success.

“Victoria is already a very complete mixed martial artist. In time she will develop the experience needed to take her to the next level and bring her to the top of her division,” Christian said.

“I think that Victoria has no limits to how far she can excel in this sport. I see her achieving even greater success than me and my sister Angela.”

As Victoria climbs into the Circle for the second time in her career this Friday night, Christian will no doubt be watching. He predicts another early and dominant night for Victoria.

“I think that Victoria’s opponent is aggressive and decently skilled. I think she is good, but Victoria is much better in every area,” Christian said.

“I see Victoria finishing her opponent with a first round submission.”

ONE: BATTLEGROUND marks ONE Championship’s much-anticipated return in the second half of 2021.

In the main event, Thai legend Sam-A Gaiyanghadao defends his ONE Strawweight Muay Thai World Title against young phenom Prajanchai PK.Saenchai Muaythaigym.

Also featured on the card is highly regarded female atomweight Ritu Phogat, who will see action against Lin Heqin.
