China Everbright Water Acquires Dalian Dongda Water For RMB800 Million

China Everbright Water(CEW) has announced the acquisition of the entire equity interest in Dalian Dongda Water Co with a consideration of RMB800 million.

Dalian Dongda Water Co is principally engaged in municipal waste water treatment, the provision of water improvement services, the construction and operation of urban public utilities and infrastructure in Liaoning Province and Inner Mongolia.

The acquisition is a further expansion of the environmental water business of the group and widens the geographical footprint of the group in PRC to cover Liaoning Province and Inner Mongolia.

Upon acquisition, CEW’s daily waste water treatment capacity will exceed 4.6 million tons per day, in line with the company’s strategy to become one of the leading water companies in PRC.

This marks CEW’s first major acquisition since merger with Hankore in December 2014.
