Chelsea FC vs Norwich: Prediction, kick off time, TV, live stream, team news and h2h results today

Chelsea FC vs Norwich: Prediction, kick off time, TV, live stream, team news and h2h results today

It is rather tricky to assess Chelsea’s start to the season ahead of today’s clash with Norwich.

The more cynically minded could view the Blues’ haul of 19 points from eight games as an aberration. Thomas Tuchel’s men have hardly set the league alight and required goalkeeper Édouard Mendy to ensure they clung to a 1-0 win away to Brentford to retain their spot at the top of the table.

However, optimists will rightly point out that winning while performing at a sub-par standard is the hallmark of champions. This is an industry powered by results and if this group of superstars are able to scrap and claw their way to victories then it should indicate that they are up for a tilt at the title.

They host Norwich for today’s early kick-off and if there is such a thing as an easy game in this competitive ecosystem then this is surely it. The Canaries are without a win from their eight games, have a goal difference of negative 14 and have scored just once in their last five matches.

After an impressive 4-0 win over Malmo in the Champions League, Chelsea are perhaps primed to replicate that form in the league. Fatigue could be a factor as they played on Wednesday, but as they’ve proved so far, even a substandard performance should be enough to get the job done.

Chelsea vs Norwich prediction

It’s top versus bottom in the Premier League and as such it’s not exactly a stretch to imagine a one-sided contest. Chelsea are without their leading striker which could, in theory, impact their goal threat.

But there is so much class elsewhere, and their deputies are themselves quality players eager to impress. Anything other than a stroll for the European champions would come as a surprise.
