Chart of the Day: Singtel's mobile revenue market share dipped to 51.5%
Mobile revenue market share of its rivals Starhub and M1 rose to 30.8% and 17.7%.
This chart from DBS Equity Research shows that the mobile revenue market share for Singtel dipped to 51.5% in Q2, whilst those of rivals Starhub and M1 rose to 30.8% and 17.7%, respectively.
M1's revenue market share has been on the rise since 3Q2016 due to market share gain of Circles.Life, Singapore's first full-service service mobile virtual network operator (MVNO).
Circles.Life utilises M1’s network, while M1’s mobile segment includes the former's revenue and subscribers.
The rise in Starhub's market share was due to higher handset subsidies. DBS estimates that Starhub has lifted the subsidy for iPhone 8 up from $550 for iPhone 7.
