CDL's special NS promo a first in Singapore

Under the Fall In for a Special NS Promotion, CDL is offering a special discount to eligible buyers of any units at three residential projects: The Venue Residences and Shoppes in Potong Pasir, as well as Coco Palms and D’Nest, which are located in Pasir Ris.
CDL’s latest campaign comes amidst a sharp slowdown in Singapore’s property market. In an effort to boost sales, several property developers here have been getting creative, including offering prizes and trips, and marketing their projects to overseas buyers.
Responding to media queries, a CDL spokesman told PropertyGuru that the promotion was rolled out in support of the nationwide We Support NS campaign, and is a first by any developer in Singapore.
“CDL has always supported all aspects of NS. As a Singapore company, we believe that defending our homeland begins with having a stake in Singapore. And nothing underscores this more than owning one’s home,” the spokesman said.
The discount is valid for all full-time servicemen (NSF), Regulars and NS men (Reservists) in the Singapore Armed Forces, and NSF and NS men from the Singapore Police Force and Singapore Civil Defence Force.
Although CDL did not reveal how much of a special discount buyers would get, a source told PropertyGuru that for projects located in the Outside Central Region (OCR), such as Pasir Ris, buyers typically enjoy discounts of up to five percent.
The source added that discounts offered for developments located in the city fringe could be higher, like in the case of Potong Pasir.
Meanwhile, The Venue Residences and Shoppes has sold 123 of its 266 units to date (46 percent of the project).
Excluding discounts, prices start from $1,197 psf for a two-bedroom suite, while three- and four-bedroom units at Coco Palms and D’Nest start from $949,000 and $1.318 million respectively.
The Special NS Promotion is limited only to 2 and 3 July. “We will gauge the response before deciding whether to extend the period of the promotion,” noted the spokesman.
