Carnival: Fiscal 3Q Earnings Snapshot
MIAMI (AP) _ Carnival Corp. (CCL) on Thursday reported fiscal third-quarter net income of $1.78 billion.
The Miami-based company said it had net income of $2.58 per share. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs and asset impairment costs, were $2.63 per share.
The results beat Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of seven analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $2.53 per share.
The cruise operator posted revenue of $6.53 billion in the period, also topping Street forecasts. Five analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $6.18 billion.
For the current quarter ending in November, Carnival expects its per-share earnings to range from 46 cents to 50 cents.
The company expects full-year earnings in the range of $4.23 to $4.27 per share.
Carnival shares have dropped 2.5% since the beginning of the year, while the Standard & Poor's 500 index has increased 19%. The stock has decreased 28% in the last 12 months.
