CapitaLand to launch new retail, food and leisure offerings in second half of the year

SINGAPORE (EDGEPROP) - CapitaLand will launch a diverse offerings in its downtown malls at Bugis Town (consisting of Bugis Junction, Bugis+ and Bugis Street), Raffles City and Funan in the second half of the year, riding on the positive momentum of Singapore’s reopening of borders and employees return to office.

“CapitaLand’s network of malls in the downtown area remains a huge draw for retailers across a diverse mix of trade categories from fashion and beauty, to dining and entertainment” says Steve Ng, the general manager of Bugis Town, Funan and Raffles City Singapore.

Bugis Junction will see a new Nike by Bugis retail concept which offers a personalised shopping experience, a CS Fresh gourmet supermarket, a newly revamped home and a children category at BHG. Meanwhile, new food outlets like Malaysia Boleh!, Fu Lin Fried Yong Tofu and King of Prawn Noodles are slated to open in the new dining zone on level three, as well as a new-to-market Sichuan Mala restaurant Wei Geng.

At Bugis+, leisure options will be augmented by the new eight-screen Golden Village multiplex featuring two Gold Class cinema halls, a HaveFun karaoke and Boulder Movement. In September, Uniqlo will reveal a refreshed retail store. Two Chinese restaurants Meow Barbeque and Yang Guo Fu Mala Tang will open as well.

At Bugis Street, the Arena eSports Hotel will be launched. The largest integrated esports gaming arena and themed hotel in South-east Asia spans 25,000 sq ft of co-working, co-playing and co-living space and the hotel rooms, fitted out with professional grade esport equipment,  double as private gaming rooms. A new link bridge connecting Bugis Street to Bugis+ is scheduled for completion in November.

Funan will see more food additions this year, including the Hong Kong noodle chain TamJai SamGor, Japanese confectionary Chateraise, new-to-market Japanese grill house Gyo Gyo, Super Coco offering coconut blends and shakes, and Japanese donburi and noodle store Mendo. Digital art academy Futurum Academy and Skin Belief, a skin spa, will be opening doors as well. Homegrown online fashion brand, Young Hungry Free, will also be launching their first physical store at Funan.

Raffles City Singapore unveiled a newly revamped Marks and Spencer on June 24, with a food hall and a grocer and in-store bakery. Earlier this month, L’occitane, a French beauty brand, and Paris Baguette’s new flagship store, Paris Baguette x teatra cafe-retail concept, opened doors to the public. In the coming months, the popular athleisure sportswear brand Lululemon, and upscale beauty brands Aesop, Chanel, Diptyque and Gucci Beauty will come to the mall. Creed, Givenchy and Guerlain will open their first standalone boutique store as well. In addition, an exclusive by-invite only VIP program was launched in April to offer a premium shopper experience to members.
