CapitaLand to go cashless in China

CapitaLand to go cashless in China

The four million members of its rewards programme can pay through a mobile app.

CapitaLand formed a strategic alliance with China UnionPay to enable cashless payment for CapitaLand China's customers.

According to a press release, the alliance will use the app for CapitaStar, CapitaLand’s cardless rewards programme, and China UnionPay's debit and credit card facilities.

Over four million CapitaStar members in China are expected to benefit from the solution.

Members will have to scan quick response (QR) codes on their app to make payments from their China UnionPay accounts.

The alliance was forged in Beijing, China at IE Singapore's tech summit for CapitaLand.
