Canadian Retail Sales Fall by 0.80% in December
Investing.com - Canadian retail sales fell more than expected in December, increasing pessimism over the state of the economy.
Canadian retail sales fell 0.80% in December, Statistics Canada said on Thursday. This was compared to 0.3% in the previous month, which was revised up from 0.2%.
Economists had forecast a reading of 0.0%.
Core retail sales, which excludes automobiles, fell 1.8%, compared to forecasts for a rise of 0.1%.
