A total of 17 awards were given out during the PropertyGuru Cambodia Property Awards held last Friday (24 March) in Phnom Penh, which was attended by more than 300 guests.

The Best Developer prize went to Borey Peng Huoth Group, last year’s big winner. It also clinched two other accolades – Best Landscape Architectural Design and Best Housing Development in Phnom Penh.

“Borey Peng Huoth Group is a company that has redefined Cambodia’s residential landscape,” said the panel of judges, adding that the firm was lauded for being the first developer in the country to create a dedicated mobile app for its clients.

“From careful site selection to sustainable building initiatives, Borey Peng Huoth is an innovative, strategic, progressive and creative developer. With acclaimed housing projects like Grand Star Platinum, the company has elevated the local property sector by implementing best practices in international markets with local sensibilities,” they added.

Another big winner was Phnom Penh City Center, which received a prize for each of its five nominated projects.

Overall, more than 30 projects across Phnom Penh, Siem Reap and Sihanoukville joined this year’s competition, including Phum Barang by MTP Invest, which was recognised for its eco-friendly features.

“Taking advantage of Siem Reap’s sub-tropical climate, Phum Barang boasts of comfortable living amenities and a natural ventilation system that can withstand strong winds, bright sunlight and the monsoon season,” said Sorn Seap, chairman of the judging panel.

The winners from Cambodia will move forward to compete in the regional grand finals at the PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards, which will take place in Singapore in November.
