BRENTWOOD, Tenn. (AP) _ Brookdale Senior Living Inc. (BKD) on Monday reported a loss of $37.1 million in its third quarter.

On a per-share basis, the Brentwood, Tennessee-based company said it had a loss of 20 cents.

The senior housing company posted revenue of $1.12 billion in the period.

Brookdale shares have decreased 5 percent since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Monday, shares hit $9.20, a drop of 12 percent in the last 12 months.
