The painting’s estimated value was 4.6 million pounds, but it sold for three times that amount.

Sotheby’s chairman of contemporary and modern art Alex Branczik said ”When Girl with Balloon ‘self-destructed’ in our saleroom, Banksy sparked a global sensation that has since become a cultural phenomenon.”
”He is no stranger to making headlines and this latest chapter in his story has captured imaginations across the world. We can only begin to guess what might come next,” Branczik added.
Banksy has established himself as the most well-known street artist in the United Kingdom. His painting “Game Changer” fetched £14.4 million at Christie’s auction house in London.
He also paid respect to British frontline workers. Then, he donated the proceeds of his artwork to the National Health Service (NHS).
He likewise rose to prominence after confirming in an Instagram video titled “A Great British Spraycation” that his masterpieces are painted all around the country.
