Brinker International: Fiscal 3Q Earnings Snapshot

DALLAS (AP) _ Brinker International Inc. (EAT) on Wednesday reported fiscal third-quarter earnings of $30.8 million.

On a per-share basis, the Dallas-based company said it had net income of 81 cents. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, came to $1.28 per share.

The results surpassed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of nine analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 48 cents per share.

The operator of restaurant chains Chili's Grill & Bar and Maggiano's Little Italy posted revenue of $860 million in the period, also exceeding Street forecasts. Seven analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $849.9 million.

Brinker International shares have decreased 54% since the beginning of the year. The stock has decreased 56% in the last 12 months.
