BGC Partners: 4Q Earnings Snapshot

NEW YORK (AP) _ BGC Partners Inc. (BGCP) on Thursday reported a fourth-quarter loss of $16.2 million, after reporting a profit in the same period a year earlier.

The New York-based company said it had a loss of 5 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs, were 12 cents per share.

The brokerage company posted revenue of $487.2 million in the period. Its revenue net of interest expense was $487.2 million, which topped Street forecasts.

For the year, the company reported profit of $55.7 million, or 16 cents per share. Revenue was reported as $2.1 billion.

BGC Partners shares have stayed the same since the beginning of the year. The stock has dropped almost 5% in the last 12 months.
