The Beckhams lead celebrity tributes to International Women's Day

Victoria Beckham marks International Women's Day with Instagram posts

Victoria and David Beckham have paid tribute to their daughter Harper on International Women's Day.

Footballer David shared some touching photos of his wife and daughter, and one of himself with his mum, as he wished the women in his life a happy day of celebration.

He wrote on his Instagram post: "I’ve been so lucky to have such incredible and strong women inspire me throughout my life.

"Today and everyday we celebrate all women around the world… Happy International Women’s day."

Victoria made a tribute to the day, too, by posting a video of Harper wishing her followers a happy International Women's Day.

She also posted a video of her own thoughts on the day, captioned: "Burn your bras! 😂 To all young girls and women all over the world, today is to celebrate us!! Kisses and Happy International Women’s Day x"

Davina McCall, who announced today that she would be fronting a Channel 4 documentary about the menopause and revealed she had cried during filming with anger at how women were being let down, also posted to mark the day.

She paid tribute to Masked Singer pal Jonathan Ross by writing: "Happy #internationalwomensday ❤️ thought I would give a shout out to @mewossy for supporting women ( not enough people know that) x thank you . And this year I shall continue to fight the good fight to get women fair treatment around the menopause ."

Carey Mulligan, who won best actress at the Critics Choice Awards last night, was one of the first celebrities to acknowledge this year's International Women's Day.

In her acceptance speech over video link, she said: "I'm aware that it is very early at the beginning of International Women's Day today. I am so honoured to be recognised amongst these incredible female performances."

Comedian Katy Brand took the opportunity to tweet her support for women looking for equality in employment.

Daisy Lowe shared a photo with her mum Pearl and sister Betty as she wrote: "Happy international women’s day... without women, there would be no humanity. My one of kind sisterhood, thank you for walking through this mad old journey we call life. Here’s to every womxn, all so beautiful, smart, courageous, vulnerable, tender, extraordinary & strong in all their own magical way.

"May we know them. May we be them. May we raise them..."

Loose Women star Jane Moore posted a photo of herself in a "She who dares wins" jumper as she wished her followers a happy International Women's Day.

Meanwhile, Heart Radio showed off a photo of its breakfast show stars Amanda Holden and Ashley Roberts posing with a celebratory board.

Also paying tribute to the important women in his life was footballer Marcus Rashford, sharing a photo of his mum who he has credited as the inspiration behind his free school meals vouchers campaigning.

He wrote: "Happy International Women’s Day. Let’s champion. Let’s celebrate. Let’s uplift. We appreciate you!"

Calum Best shared an Instagram post with the quote: "You can't spell hero without her."

Footballer Harry Kane also shared some family photos with the words: "I am very lucky to have incredible women in my life. Happy international women’s day to all women around the world."
