BBR awarded 20 year Solar Panel Lease

BBR awarded 20 year Solar Panel Lease

BBR Holdings (S) Limited announced that it has been awarded a contract by HDB. The contract is for the installation of about 20,000 solar panels on more than 75 blocks of HDB flats in Ang Mo Kio, Singapore. This includes a 20 year power purchase agreement from the Ang Mo Kio Town Council. The power purchase rate is at a preferential rate that is not higher than retail electrical tariff rates. Expected power output is 6GWh annually. The electricity generated will be used to power public services in common areas such as lift operations, corridor and staircase lightings and water pumps.

GET TO THE POINT : Looks like solar power is finally coming to Singapore. Well done HDB! This clearly makes sense with high oil prices and lots of sun in Singapore.
