Aston Martin just revealed its first luxury boat — but it costs a lot more than one of its supercars

Aston Martin just made its first boating debut — and the product sure is pricey.

A spokesperson for the British car manufacturer said its boat will range from $1.6 million to $2.1 million, depending on what version you get. To help put that into perspective, most of Aston Martin’s cars price between $140,000 to $300,000.

The boat is something that has been in the works for a while. Aston Martin first teased details of the boat, dubbed the AM37, in 2015. At the time, Aston Martin said that only “potential owners of the new Aston Martin powerboat are being given more details of the new project on a strictly confidential one-to-one basis,” making the whole project very secretive.

But now, the 37-foot powerboat, made in conjunction with Quintessence Yachts, is now available. Here’s everything we know about it:

The AM37 has been in the works for two years and marks Aston Martin’s first foray into the boating industry.

There are two versions of the boat. The one that reaches a top speed of 45 knots costs around $1.6 million, while the premium version reaching up to 50 knots costs roughly $2.1 million.

Aston Martin has already sold its first boat that will be delivered by the beginning of 2017. Only 8 to 12 boats will be sold each year.

It has a carbon fiber dashboard that was designed to mimic Aston Martin sports cars. The dashboard features a control monitor, navigation system, and entertainment display.

The boat has a table on board that can transform into a bed.

It also comes with a bathroom, refrigerator, microwave oven, and coffee machine. It even comes with air conditioning if that sea air isn’t cool enough for you.

Owners can cover the entire cockpit by pressing a button to activate a sliding deck. There’s also a swim platform that can extend from the back of the boat so you can dip into the water with ease.

Production for the boat has begun and will last 32 weeks.

The AM37 is intended to be a very exclusive product, with a high level of customization and excellent handcrafting,” an Aston Martin spokesperson told Business Insider.
