VELDHOVEN, Netherlands (AP) _ ASML Holding NV (ASML) on Wednesday reported first-quarter earnings of $612.9 million.

The Veldhoven, Netherlands-based company said it had profit of $1.43 per share.

The equipment supplier to semiconductor makers posted revenue of $2.59 billion in the period.

ASML shares have risen 31 percent since the beginning of the year. The stock has fallen 1.5 percent in the last 12 months.
