DULUTH, Minn. (AP) _ Allete Inc. (ALE) on Thursday reported second-quarter earnings of $34.2 million.

On a per-share basis, the Duluth, Minnesota-based company said it had profit of 66 cents.

The power company owner posted revenue of $290.4 million in the period.

Allete shares have climbed 14% since the beginning of the year. The stock has risen 12% in the last 12 months.
