Airline Condor 'confident' on green light for German aid in EU probe

FRANKFURT (Reuters) - Charter airline Condor sees a European Commission probe into state aid it received from the German government as a logical next step and is confident that the investigation will confirm authorisation of the aid, a spokesperson said on Monday.

In May, the EU's second-top court cancelled an earlier decision on the 2019 government bailout of Condor, which has been challenged by Ryanair.

"This step by the Commission is a logical consequence of the judgement of the EU Court," the Condor spokesperson said on the new probe.

"We are confident that the investigation will soon be completed and that the Commission will confirm the authorisation of the restructuring aid," the spokesperson added.
