Adtran tops 4Q revenue forecasts

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (AP) _ Adtran Inc. (ADTN) on Tuesday reported fourth-quarter net income of $7.6 million.

On a per-share basis, the Huntsville, Alabama-based company said it had profit of 16 cents.

The networking equipment maker posted revenue of $163 million in the period, which topped Street forecasts. Four analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $152 million.

For the year, the company reported profit of $35.2 million, or 72 cents per share. Revenue was reported as $636.8 million.

Adtran shares have risen nearly 1 percent since the beginning of the year. The stock has increased 28 percent in the last 12 months.
