With it being just nearly 2 hours away by plane, Bali has become on of the most popular vacation spots for Singaporeans.  Rich in culture, adventure and pure fun, Bali is definitely the place to visit when you need a vacation or to simply get away from it all.

Here are some of our favorite places that we recommend visiting during your time in Bali:

Tanjung Benoa is a peninsula located on the southern tip of Bali and is the definition of fun in the sun!  This beach has a vast amount of water sports and activities including parasailing, snorkeling, scuba diving, water skiing, and many more.  Tanjug Benoa is definitely the place you’ll want to go if you’re looking for an adventure.  It also has a covered sit down area that sells drinks and has multiple shops after you’ve completed your water activities.  To learn more information and discover more activities, click here.

Dreamland Beach is nothing short of its name.  If you like good food, local shopping, and beautiful views, then this is the perfect beach for you!  It is located on the Bukit peninsula and has a free shuttle for tourists and locals to take to the beach.  Its beautiful views, clear waters and caves to explore make it a spot for both adults and children to enjoy.  This is also a popular spot for surfers because of its miraculous waves.  We especially recommend climbing the cliff (see picture above) for the most breathtaking view of the ocean.

3. The Uluwatu Temple to watch the sun set

Uluwatu Temple is a Balinese temple located right above the ocean and is infamous for its beautiful sunsets.  And for just IDR $50,000 (S$5.20) you have the option to watch a cultural Kecak fire dance.  However, be careful of your belongings because the local monkeys are very mischievous and love to steal things (especially sunglasses)!  For more information about The Uluwatu Temple, click here.

4. Seaside Café in Jimbaran

This restaurant is located right on the Jimbaran beach and is a perfect spot for a romantic night out.  With soothing music played by a live mariachi band and delicious seafood, The Seaside Café is one of our favorite spots to dine in Bali.

5. Ubud Monkey Forest

If you’re an animal lover, then you will love the Ubud Monkey Forest.  Here you can walk around a nature reserve/temple while interacting with monkeys.  You also have the opportunity to buy a hand of bananas and feed them.  If you're lucky, these little furry friends might even decide to climb on you and sit on your shoulders while they eat!  However, it is advised to wear a backpack or a purse that zips because the monkeys are very prone to stealing things from tourists.

6. Tegallalang Rice Terrace

Tegallalang is perhaps the most famous rice terrace located in Bali.  It is known for its beautiful scenery and rice paddies that use subak (a traditional Balinese irrigation system).  Its historic and incredible valleys and landscapes also provide the perfect picture opportunities.

7. Hike Mt. Batur to watch the sun rise

This is by far one of our favorite activities to do in Bali.  If you love the outdoors and astonishing views, we definitely recommend that you hike Mt. Batur to watch the sun rise.  The beauty of the volcano can be seen through every step of the journey and the kind and patient tour guides couldn’t be any friendlier!  However, be advised that if you want to watch the sunrise at the top of the volcano, you should arrive around 1:30 a.m. to make sure that you don’t miss it, especially if you’re a beginner at hiking.  To schedule your hike, click here.

8. Batur Natural Hot Spring

If you decide to hike Mt. Batur, The Batur Natural Hot Spring is the perfect place too cool off and relax afterwards.  Its bathing water is all natural and flows from Mt. Batur itself.  Batur Natural Hot Spring is also the only healing spa in Bali.  It has even been said that a man who was once suffering from incurable diseases travelled to this hot spring to see if he could be healed.  Once the man stepped into the hot spring he instantly felt his body change and start to heal itself.  Wow!  The hot springs also face towards a remarkable view of the Danau Batur lake, and massages and food are provided there as well.

9. Sky Garden

If you’re looking for nightlife in Bali, well look no further.  Sky Garden is one of the top of the line nightclubs that Bali has to offer and is home to some of the world’s best DJ’s including Steve Aoki, Afrojack, and many more.  This club has two levels for its patrons to experience.  The first floor is an open space that allows its guests to dance freely as different DJ’s spin music every night.  If electronic dance music (EDM) isn’t your kind of thing, then we suggest you try the second floor, where they play various music genres ranging all the way from the 70s to now.  The second floor is also a rooftop bar that provides an incredible view and a cooling breeze.
