6 pre-wedding shoot locations in Singapore that will make your friends jealous

Long gone are the days that engaged couples would find the best studio to get their pre-wedding shoots done. Now it’s all about having a stunning natural backdrop or doing it somewhere so unique that it matches the exact personality of the couple.

Talented and versatile photographers are in high demand but in higher demand still are these locations where couples can get their wedding shots done. After all, these photos are going to last forever and will be shown to the future generations…. So they better be perfect!

With some budget constraints, sometimes the Paris dream may be out of reach to some as a destination shoot. There’s no need to go too far as Singapore has plenty of beautiful spots that couples can enjoy their shoot at. Here are 6 pre-wedding shoot locations in Singapore that you can consider:

1. Punggol Lalang Field

This one is for the outdoorsy couple, the couple you will always see preparing for their next hike, biking adventure or finding the best places to go to for flying fox. This is every nature-lover’s dream location and every photographer’s too! It is naturally beautiful and the lighting on a good day will make it easy to shoot. The lalang in the field will give off a gentle feel to the photos and make the subject matter – you and your loved one – stand out. The only downside is that you may get your dress dirty, so be careful!

2. Haji Lane

This is a very versatile space to shoot at. If you and your partner are known as the quirky, hipster couple, then this will be your ideal shoot location. Haji Lane with its brightly coloured murals and whimsical architecture will give your photos an air of mystery. With the right props like balloons, it could make for the most eye-grabbing shots that your guests would have ever seen! They also make for great display photos in your new home against white walls. It will add such a splash of colour!

3. Cloud or Flower Dome at Gardens by the Bay

If you love the idea of being surrounded by a waterfall or imported flowers and cacti, the cloud and flower domes at Gardens by the Bay would be great options. One winning feature about these two locations is that they are fully air-conditioned, so you don’t have to rush through your shoot and your make up won’t run! It is a cheaper option than say, flying off to Japan or Korea during spring or autumn. You will also appreciate the natural sunlight streaming through the dome which will make the pictures turn out great!

4. National Museum of Singapore

This is one that the history and architecture buffs will love. The colonial architecture will give the photos a very vintage feel that will turn out gorgeous in black and white. The high ceilings and intricate detailing in the building also gives the photo more depth and style. Not to mention, if both your favourite colours are white and grey, this would make for the perfect colour scheme.

5. Lorong Halus Bridge

This is a pretty unique spot and the photographer will be able to use the lines of the bridge to frame their shots beautifully. The metal and rust feel of the bridge is also a great backdrop to have, mixing a feeling of old and new. The old being the bridge and the new being your marriage! Depending on what time of the day you decide to do your shoot, the bridge is able to suit the different moods – whether it is playful, romantic, vintage or dark.

6. Atlas Bar, Parkview Square

If not Parkview Square itself for its Gotham City feel (if you’re both diehard fans of Batman), then consider shooting your pre-wedding shots at the gorgeous Atlas Bar in its lobby. It will give off that Great Gatsby vibe, perfect if you’re looking at doing a dapper, 20s theme for your wedding gown and tuxedo. Touted as the world’s most ambitious gin bar, you can even grab a cool glass of gin and tonic with your partner while the shoot is going on.
