4 Places Where You Can Admire Orchids In Singapore

1. The Orchid @ Shangri-La Hotel

This spanking new 7m-tall architectural greenhouse nestled in Shangri-La boasts over 600 orchids blossoming from 25 species. Adding to the hotel's Orchid Walk, this lovely architectural creation has a façade that is constructed to look like an orchid bud.

In case you're wondering, you can do more at The Orchid than just feast your eyes on pretty flowers and being enveloped in this massive bud. Guests at the hotel can arrange for a private themed dinner within The Orchid that's good for up to 6 people.

Also, you do not have to stay in the hotel to admire the orchids as it's open to members of the public as well.

2. Orchid Garden @ Changi Airport

Besides these 6 secret attractions you never knew existed at Changi Airport, you have to visit the Orchid Garden if you have some time to spare and you happen to be at T2's departure transit lounge.

Here, you'll find over 700 orchids from 30 different species that represent Earth, Water, Fire and Air, the four elements of nature. This charming garden showcases a myriad of orchids according to their shapes and colours, too.

Do remember to bring your camera along to snap pictures of these bright orchids and selfies of yourself basking in this vibrant, colourful space!

Are you a fan of Hello Kitty? If you are, then you might want to make a trip to the east of Singapore just so that you can nibble on cutesy treats while feasting your eyes on the surrounding beautiful orchids that adorn the wildly popular Hello Kitty-themed café that has just recently opened.

We reckon that you'll have a whale of a time having afternoon tea here at this adorable space that is guaranteed to make most females squeal in delight.

4. National Orchid Garden @ Botanic Gardens

I'm pretty sure everyone has been to the Singapore Botanic Gardens at some point in time, but not everyone has stepped foot into the National Orchid Garden that's located within the sprawling green space.

If you're someone who's in need of taking a breather or a respite from the hectic demands of life, a trip to the National Orchid Garden may just be what you need to calm yourself down.

Expect to marvel at over 1000 species and 2000 hybrids while you're at it. I especially love how the display here is neatly compartmentalised according to their colour scheme in accordance to seasons like spring, summer, autumn and winter!

Although entrance to the orchid garden isn't free (except for children under 12 years old), it isn't expensive at all - a ticket for an adult costs $5 while a senior citizen or student ticket costs just $1. Tempted to go already?
