It’s the Chinese New Year season and every bank is trying to cash in on the holiday mood. With so many promotions going on right now, we thought it best to provide you with an up to date list of the 3 best credit card promotions right now.
Throughout the year, we’ll be updating this article as new credit card promotions are announced. Expect the categories to change too when necessary.
For dining – OCBC Credit Cards
When it comes to food, it can get very subjective, but it’s pretty clear that OCBC Credit Cards have supplanted UOB cards as the best credit cards to have for dining. Not only do they have a wide selection of dining discounts from restaurants that represent varied cuisines like Thai, Korean and Italian, but with the OCBC 365 Card, you can get up to 6% cashback on dining.
In particular, look out for unbeatable OCBC dining promotions like:
Up to 30% off at Suki-Ya: 30% off on Mon and Tue, 15% off between Wed and Friday and 10% off with minimum $80 spent on weekends) till 31 March.
Up to 30% off at Rocku Yakiniku: 30% off on Mon and Tue, 15% off between Wed and Friday and 10% off with minimum $80 spent on weekends) till 31 March.
For travel – UOB Cards
Don’t want to hang around with the extended family on Chinese New Year? Want to avoid the inevitable questions about your love life or whether there are children in your future? With trips to Vietnam from $298, Taipei from $288 or even just a staycation at Sentosa from $353, UOB Cards will help you find your perfect getaway for the Chinese New Year long weekend.
From now till March 2015, get up to 75% off worldwide hotel stays with Agoda, plus up to 7% extra discount depending on the card you use.
From now till April 2015, you also can get up to 10% off hotel bookings with Expedia, although it must be noted that this deal is also valid with OCBC Cards.
For online shopping – Citibank Cards
If you’re hoping to get everything you need for Chinese New Year, how about a one stop shopping solution? Imagine getting your clothes, groceries, and new furnishings, all at the click of a button. Oh, and did I mention there’s not only discounts but cashback too?
Using ShopBack, an online shopping portal, you can get 6% cashback with ASOS, 10% cashback with ZALORA, 10% cashback at RedMart, 6% cashback through Groupon and up to 4% cashback at Courts.
Till 31 July 2015, if you sign up at ShopBack using your Citibank Rewards Card, you’re immediately given $10 to spend. Other Citibank Cards earn you $5 at sign up.
It has to be mentioned, however, that the cashback will be credited to your ShopBack account, which means you’ll only be able to use it for your next ShopBack purchase. But with the range of stores that ShopBack covers, you’ll probably never find yourself accumulating cashback rebates.
