There’s a great bunch of money-saving deals and discounts for you to grab this week, including £25 tickets to Paris and free chocolate.

But remember, a bargain is only a good deal if you were planning to splash out on it anyway.

£25 train ride to Paris

You can get the train to Paris, Brussels, Lille or Calais for just £25 if you book by 19 November for journeys between 29 November and 28 March 2018. Eurostar also has £25 tickets for the return journey too.

There needs to be four of you booking to get the bargain; if there’s three tickets start at £27, and from £28 if there’s just two of you.

The low prices are only available on unpopular train times but when we checked, there were still opportunities to get away for a cheap trip. Find the full details here.

Free chocolate tasting box

Until next Sunday, 12 November, TopCashback is offering all members (both new and existing) a free Hotel Chocolat Tasting Club Box, worth £9.95, after cashback.

But remember to cancel the subscription once you get the first box so you don’t continue to get charged. For more information go here.

A third off a bottle of bubbles!

Waitrose is cutting the price of a range of sparkling wines from tomorrow (Wednesday 8 November) which should give you plenty of time to stock up for seasonal celebrations!

Some are reduced by 25% but there’s a third off Codorníu ‘1872’ Vintage Brut Cava, which falls from £11.99 to £7.99, and Duval-Leroy Fleur de Champagne NV Premier Cru, down from £28.99 to £18.99.

Extra Nectar points for rail travellers

Until 8 November, Nectar customers booking some train tickets can get extra points. You can boost your numbers with 20 points per £1 with TransPennine Express and 5x bonus points, plus up to 50% off tickets, with Greater Western Railway.

The deals are valid on advanced train tickets up to April 2018, bought through the offer or available on the Nectar app.

If you plan to mark Remembrance Day on 11 November by buying something from the Royal British Legion’s Poppy Shop, do so through this link to get 10% cashback, which you can then pass onto the charity to help its work even more. It offers a range of Poppy-linked brooches, earrings, necklaces and cufflinks.

Meanwhile, Coventry Building Society is offering a Poppy Fixed ISA and a Poppy Bond in support of The Royal British Legion. Both savings accounts pay 2% until late 2020 and the building society will hand over 0.15% of the money invested in the accounts to the Royal British Legion.

Reverse advent calendar to help the hungry

During November several money bloggers are putting one item in a box each day to produce a reverse advent calendar, but of useful food items. They plan to donate them to a food bank in early December. It sounds like a great idea! There is more info here

Tip of the Week

Ahead of Black Friday on 24 November, when many retailers cut prices to clear stock ahead of Christmas, sign up to newsletters advises HotUKDeals.

That should then allow you to shop online as early as possible so you don’t miss out on any potential bargains.

Some members of the money-saving website suggest taking out a 30-day Amazon Prime trial to get access to their early discounts – but it’s essential to remember to cancel it to avoid being lumped with a £79 annual fee.
