| The investment seeks maximum total return consistent with the preservation of capital. The fund normally invests at least 80% of assets in debt securities issued or guaranteed by the U.S. government, its agencies or instrumentalities, including mortgage-backed securities issued by agencies such as Fannie Mae or the GNMA. It also invests in repurchase agreements and high quality securities issued by U.S. corporations.
