| The investment seeks to provide a high level of current income; capital appreciation is a secondary consideration. The fund normally invests at least 80% of assets in a broad range of bonds. It primarily purchases bonds that are rated investment grade or better, and may invest up to 5% of assets in lower-rated securities. It may lend securities with a value of up to 33 1/3% of the total assets (including the loan collateral) to qualified institutions. The fund may also invest up to 25% of assets in foreign securities.
